About

Josh and Holly Wright’s journey began in 2012 when they had the serendipitous pleasure of meeting each other. Little did they know that this chance encounter would become the cornerstone of their beautiful love story. Two years later, in 2014, Josh and Holly were married, surrounded by their loved ones at their church in Rural Hall, NC. As their love grew, so did their family, welcoming two delightful children into their lives. Their eldest, Hadley, now five years old, is a smart and curious soul with a big heart and a vivid imagination. Her favorite animal on the farm is her pony. Their youngest, Emmett, is 3 years old and full of joy and mischief, with a knack for getting out of trouble with his bright smile. He loves the cattle the most. Together, they create a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Even though their family was complete, there was always a sense that something was missing. Although they had a small 12-acre farm very close to town, where they raised Golden Retrievers, a few laying hens, and a couple of horses, they yearned for the simple joys of self-sufficiency and the pride that comes from raising their own food.

The idea of owning a larger farm further out in the country became a beacon of hope, a place where they could connect with nature, nurture the land, and find the perfect home for their dreams to flourish. With each passing day, the desire to escape the confines of living so close to town and the vision of a larger farm filled their hearts with anticipation. They imagined the endless fields of green, the vibrant colors of the garden, and the sounds of animals grazing under the open sky. It was the missing piece that had the power to transform their lives and create a haven where they could embrace a truly authentic way of living.

They found their home in Pilot Mountain, NC in January of 2021. A hobby cattle farmer was retiring to move closer to his family and was happy to sell them his 50-acre farm. Although 50 acres is still considered a small farm as far as commercial standards go, it was huge to them. It had had cattle on it for several years, but before that, it was a row crop farm. They are slowly bringing the pastures back to the natural thick grasses it had before being tilled for so many years. And so began our pastured meats journey.
